Very sharp

Seems spendy until I have it in my hands. It is well made and all of there tips have held up well even in the face of Rock shots. Easy to re-sharpen. Solid penetration of fish and easy to remove. This one is especially good on Ling cod

Excellent tip

I spearfish off the NC coast. Lots of flounder, grouper, sheepshead, trigger, cobia. This is a good tip.

Good Tip

I favor the arrowhead tip but had to use this one in a pinch. Worked well but be sure to use some type of adhesive to adhere to spear

An extra is always nice to have

An extra spear-tip is always nice to have. This provides excellant penetration and the spinner prevents the fish from escaping by spinning the tip off of the spear.

Let's get right to the point, these tips are designed to punch through even the toughest fish, penetrating thick skin and hard bone. Constructed of hardened 17-4 stainless with a razor-sharp finish they'll make short work of just about any game fish. Low-profile, stainless wings are quickly deployed and angled to grab tight and hold on. Sliding wing retainer allows for easy removal of fish.

JBL's patented (#4685239) rotating design allows for 360° spin, providing greater holding power and minimizing the chance of your point unthreading from the shaft as a result of a fish "rolling" in battle. With the 4" (102mm) wing span and 3/8" (9.5mm) standard profile opens a large hole for easy passage of barbs through the fish, one shot is all you will ever need with this tip. Three cutting edges hand sharpened to a precision provides a massive wound channel making it ideal for open water game. Tip is designed for medium to large fish and comes in both 6mm or 7mm thread size.
